The Falcon is the worlds most advanced frequency jammer, designed to counter remote detonation of explosives via radio or GSM transmission

The Falcon has been designed primarily for the use by British forces operating in hostile areas to provide protection against the remote detonation of explosives as used by terrorists using frequency transmitting devices

The Falcon offers a proven unique multi-band twin-channel frequency jammer:

  • Channel A – FM;
  • Channel B – Tri-Band.

Unlike other jamers, The Falcon offers 4 independent program settings. Individual frequencies can be selected at increased amplification.
For example:

  • Setting
  • Programmed to sweep through all RF & GSM frequencies (like most other jammers)

  • Setting 2
  • Programmed for 27MHz

  • Setting 3
  • Other frequency that may be deemed a threat (as used locally by terrorists)

  • Setting 4
  • Other frequency that may be deemed a threat (as used locally by terrorists)

Whilst other jammers offer a sweep of a wide band of frequencies, the amplification power is spread over the band also, and therefore dilutes its strength and effectiveness in counteracting a remote signal attack (especially if the terrorist is using a powerful transmitter).

The Falcon uses a very sophisticated high speed DDS (direct digital synthesis) which enables the system to magnify its amplification, and therefore become more effective against enemy attack.

The Falcon is a complete ECM system, blocking all currently known forms of RCIED activation.

Available in either covert or overt installations, The Falcons wide band jamming transmission is available with twin whips or flat plate antennas (The flat plate antennas option allows for covert operations).

The systems sophisticated high speed DDS (direct digital synthesis) uses technology to provide a fully programmable frequency agile source for UHF/VHF signal jamming.

Base Control Station In this way the most optimum response for each type and frequency of threat can be generated at will, and complex signals produced to jam many threats simultaneously.

This provides the advantage of an effective jammer with relatively low power of 50 watts average with consequent savings in weight and source power.

The control is by simple selection of a pre-programmed data "fill" with status given by an LCD display.

Controls and indicators are available both on the jammer and as a remote with a 5m umbilical cable.

The unit operates from 11 to 32v DC and is therefore usable from both 12 and 24v DC operating vehicles.

Sophisticated built in test equipment and constant self-checking routines are provided to ensure the utmost reliability.

Many jammers available on the market today do not cater for situations that require multiple systems. For example, medium – large sized convoys require such systems, and many other jammers fail to operate in this way, as each vehicles jammer blocks each others jammers, and seriously affects the effectiveness of the system.

The Falcon does not have this problem, and has been designed to operate seamlessly with a range of other ECM equipment, including other Jammers without generating mutual interference or odd inter-modulation effects. Indeed many of our systems can be used simultaneously as a distributed jamming solution without any risk of inter-modulation effects.

Equally The Falcon maybe programmed to be fully compatible with friendly forces communication equipment.

Operation

The ECM Jammer has been designed specifically to counter UHF/VHF RCIED’s which are seen as the most prevalent threat within current threat areas.

However it can be integrated into the proven GSM blocking system used in the Guardsman range of Jammers.

With GSM Jamming it is necessary to completely block the entire frequency ranges 900, 1800, 1950 MHz because it is impossible to safely allow any communication traffic through these channels.

Advanced Communications

The Falcon is unique with the facility to allow UHF/VHF Radio communications between the protected vehicle and HQ (for example) the Falcon has four possible programmable “fills” which enable this unit to allow friendly radio communication whilst effectively jamming those frequencies from permitting RCIED detonation. No other jammer available will offer this feature.

This technology does NOT include the use of open communication frequency windows or drop out bands as this is a threat, instead the unit incorporates over 3 decades of intelligence in RCIED operation to analyse and determine what is friend or foe and act accordingly, further specific detail as to how this works can be explained to the end user.

Control Unit

Each Jammer comes with it own control unit which is used to monitor the Jammer when in use.

If the user encounters an emergency and activates the emergency signal button (Red) on either the main unit or the remote control unit the unit sends an emergency signal to the control unit.

This signal will display on the LCD in the briefcase mounted control unit the Following:

  • Users unique Identification sign
  • Exact Lat/Long Position

Whilst each Jammer comes with its own Control unit, each control unit can monitor up to five Jammers at a time.

Therefore when used in convoys the base station can watch all units in case an emergency situation arises and be able to provide response teams with exact location of each user and their identity.

By coupling the Control Unit to a handheld unit such as a Palm computer the reference can be clearly shown on a map for easier and instant location.

This system is unique to this Jammer and has never been developed before in conjunction with Jammers.

The GPS frequency operates at the lower threshold and can therefore travel faster enabling response times in seconds from initiation of alert signal.
