When combined with earphones, this kit enables the user to communicate whilst wearing breathing apparatus or restrictive head protection. The mic is held on the top of the head by a soft rubber pad and picks up speech via skull vibration; at the same time, wind and background noise are excluded. A pair of slim earphones or an acoustic output are available. This design leaves the hands free and face unobscured when worn by rescue and hazard protection personnel, who still retain the ability for direct hearing and speaking.

Firearms Kit

The product is based on a standard 3 wire covert kit manufactured in the USA. This consists of a connector that plugs into the base of the radio terminal with 3 leads coming from it. The first lead terminates in a small cylindrical microphone which has a safety pin for attaching it to the users clothing collar.

This can be worn inside the lapel for covert duties. The second lead terminates in a 2 pin plug. This is normally plugged into a small audio transducer mounted on a spring clothing clip which is clipped to the user?s collar.

From there a thin transparent coiled plastic tube goes to an ear tip. This provides around 15dB of background noise attenuation for use in moderately noisy environments. The third wire normally terminates in a barrel PTT, but we can as an option introduce an in line socket to which a variety of PTT switches can be attached.

The Genesis speaker microphone is the most rugged in OTTO’s speaker microphone line. The Genesis is designed to be a watertight unit with excellent audio performance. The Genesis also offers an optional watertight accessory jack to support a full range of audio accessories including Skull and Throat Microphones and other headset options. This unit is designed for rugged environments including Public Safety Markets (police, fire, SWAT and EMT services), maritime law enforcement, high-end industrial and military users.
